A Promise to Forever
It all started in 2013, when one of the strongest earthquakes struck our beloved island Province of Bohol when Chito and Liezel officially met. Their first meeting was not like those of fairytales but a bittersweet taste of reality – one in which most Boholanos think as one of their most unforgettable days. As for Chito and Liezel, it would be one of their most unforgettable days just like any other Boholano/Boholana, yet they still do not know it yet. Little did they know, this unfortunate event would lead to something that we call “blessing in disguise”.
What started as an act of volunteerism in the relief operations for the Earthquake victims at the Governor’s Mansion led Chito to the first act of getting attracted to Liezel. However, he thought that she was still too young for him that time and so they started their connection as friends. As a matter of fact, they were bound to establish the best foundation to any kind of relationship – FRIENDSHIP. Since then, they have been seeing each other in and out of their school’s campus at Bohol Island State University – Main Campus, with just simply saying their hellos to each other.
Even when Chito was still a student, he was already indulging himself into business. During those times in college, he was selling Tees or T-shirts on Facebook. Then one time, Liezel jokingly commented on his Facebook page that Chito would just give one for free. Unknowingly, Liezel and her family was also into the food business and so she just did it probably to get Chito’s attention. However, he thought it was unbelievable and that what she did was off, for a striving businessman like him. That business is business and there is no room for free stuff. Time came, they grew apart, met different people, and even made relationships with them. However, in June 2014, they met again just right outside their school’s exit gate and on that faithful day, Liezel, unfortunately had her heart broken. She confided it to Chito and that’s when their BUSINESS with each other started. Chito gave Liezel his advice and smoothly asked for her mobile number. Using the then famous “keypad phones” they tirelessly texted each other and made constant communication. During that time, Chito also reviewed for his board examination in Electrical Engineering. Thankfully, he successfully passed and that was when they officially started dating. On the same year, they became boyfriend and girlfriend.
As years passed, they celebrated monthsaries, anniversaries, and surpassed countless adversaries together. In 2016, Chito applied to work overseas and was able to go abroad in the same year. While on board, working as an Electrical Engineer, he felt as if being there, far away from his family and loved ones made him rethink his decisions. Nonetheless, Liezel also felt the same and to make up to her absence, she sent him care-packages through LBC, inside it were food items to last him for days and a whole lot of handwritten love letters to ease the loneliness that he felt while on board. They had a long-distance relationship (LDR) for a year, and it seemed really challenging since they were still adjusting to the situation.
In 2017, Liezel graduated in college and yet Chito was unfortunately not there to witness it not until in 2018, he finally decided to start opening a business and that he’d rather stay here for good. With the support of Liezel, he was able to establish his own business line called “THAILOTO Motor parts & Shop”. With the suppport and help of their families they strived a lot in expanding their business together. Then, in September 2019, they both decided to have their Civil Wedding.
Together with their families, friends, loved ones, and two beautiful daughters – Elizabeth and Ysabelle, they surpassed the endless trials and triumphs in life.
Through more than a decade of knowing each other and five years of being civilly married, they now have voluntarily surrendered to make their business official, in the eyes of God through the Sacrament of Matrimony.
